Safe extraction of wisdom teeth.

What is wisdom tooth?

Wisdom teeth are the third largest molars in the back of the mouth.
Usually, they have 4 wisdom teeth,
2 in the upper jaw and 2 in the lower jaw.
There are many cases where it cannot come out and is buried in the jawbone.

Wisdom tooth extraction process

Wisdom tooth position and shape are identified through detailed examination such as 3D CT scan.

Make an incision in the gum and remove the bone to make room.

Extract wisdom teeth.
(In some cases, the wisdom tooth is divided and extracted.)

The incision is sutured.

Precautions for wisdom tooth extraction

Hold the gauze tightly for about 2 hours and swallow it without spitting out saliva or blood.
Avoid hot food on the day of surgery as it may cause bleeding at the extraction site, and eat soft, cold food.
Do not suck on the wound and do not put your finger on the treated area or suck with your tongue. (Do not use straws)
If ice pack is necessary, wrap an ice pack in a towel and use it only for 48 hours after the procedure.
Do not exercise excessively or take a hot bath within 24 hours after surgery.
There is some swelling and pain after tooth extraction. Be sure to follow your dentist's prescriptions and directions.
Do not eat or drink until the anesthesia wears off, and alcohol and tobacco should be avoided for up to 1 week after surgery.
Eat hot food or stimulant food after 2-3 days.
